What is CPS

Call Processing Scenario, or CPS, scripting is an optional feature that permits VistaPoint client applications to perform very flexible conditional actions  based upon call events relating to the primary extension associated with said application.

Scripting may be used to perform 1st party call-control or invoke external web pages in response to either telephony or end-user originated events.

Refer to document: CPS_Scripts_EDCS0087.pdf  for details on the Javascript/VBScript language support for CPS in the VistaPoint products.

Executive Suite / Packaged Office Script

This CPS was created to support the packaged office or executive suite business model. In typical Executive Suite applications the PBX is configured to route all calls to a pilot number that rings all operators simultaneously. When any of the operators answer the call, it clears from all other operator phones and PC screens. As new calls arrive, all operators (including the operator that is still connected to the first call) can see the new call being offered to the operator pool. This makes it possible for busy operators to place a caller on hold and retrieve the new call. This can continue until the number of line appearances on their phone is exceeded.

The CPS that has been created for use in executive suites performs the following…

When a call rings an operator’s extension as an “offering call”

1.      The PC screen will display the name of the company that the caller is trying to reach

2.      The greeting that the client wants their calls answered with

When the operator answers the “offering call”…

1.      The BLF Group containing the associated extensions for that client will be instantly displayed so that the operator can see the real-time availability of the person the caller will be requesting. NOTE: The extensions are presented as BLF Cells within each BLF Group representing the clients that the executive suite services.
